Dental Awards winners

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons have announced the winners from its Dental Awards. Members of the College can apply for an award to help develop their professional skills. There is a selection of Awards and Scholarships available including those with a Dental focus.

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons have announced the winners from its Dental Awards. Members of the College can apply for an award to help develop their professional skills. There is a selection of Awards and Scholarships available including those with a Dental focus.

Our latest winners include grants to young researchers and for those widening their experience by visiting other countries or specialist centres. In total, nine successful applicants received the following awards:

TC White Young Researcher Grant (£10,000)

This grant is for a young researcher to enable them to develop research skills.

TC White Travel Grant (£2,000 each)

This grant provides assistance with travel and accommodation costs for attending symposia and gaining experience outside the individual’s country of residence.

TC White Observational Award (£2,000 each)

This award funds travel and accommodation costs for non-UK residents wishing to gain experience at a centre of excellence.

TC White Lecture Award (£1,000)

  • Mr Amit Dattani

This award enables young researchers to present their work at a professional conference.

UK Dental Undergraduate Award (£500 each)

This award is for UK undergraduate students who demonstrate excellence in either their completed Dental Elective Programme or a completed Clinical Case Report.

Granting these awards, Professor Graham Ogden, Vice President (Dental) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons said:

“I am delighted to be recognising these winners.  They have shown areas where they can improve their dentistry skills which will ultimately benefit patients. Their work will be of importance and hope it will be the start of a long association with the College.”

“As the Dental faculty looks to continue to lead the way in showing leadership in dentistry, it is particularly gratifying to see the number and calibre of entrants this year. Their motivation and enthusiasm is inspiring.”
