The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow is bringing together some of the UK’s foremost health leaders for an online event to learn the leadership lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic.
During this pandemic great leadership has been exemplified at all levels, not least in the field of healthcare. That’s why the college is producing this webinar, to be held at 6pm GMT on Tuesday 26th May, which will focus on the lessons we’ve learned and how we can take these forward to enhance our clinical practice.
The experts presenting at this free event will include:
– Professor Michael West, Professor of Work and Organisational Psychology, Lancaster University
– Helen Bevan, Chief Transformation Officer Horizons Group, NHS England
– Professor Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director, Scottish Government
College President Professor Jackie Taylor introduced the event, saying:
“The current crisis is fast becoming the “new normal” for so many of us. We’ve all drastically changed the way we work, and the way we live in order to address the COVID-19 pandemic. In so many ways our lives and work for the NHS has been turned upside-down. One of the few things which has remained constant in our professional roles is the need for leadership.
“During this pandemic I’m sure we’re all aware of the importance of good leadership at every level, but especially within our health care sector. So much has been achieved in such a short space of time, and it’s vital that we capture this learning now. I’m delighted that our College has been able to bring together these eminent experts in this field, so that we can hear about best practice, understand the lessons learned, and take these forward to enhance our own clinical practice. Compassionate leadership will continue to play an essential role in the recovery phase of the pandemic.
“Our previous online events have drawn thousands of participants from across the globe and there is a great deal that we can share and learn from all healthcare settings. This event is free to attend. Tickets are available on the college’s website at:
