The Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Examinations (ICBSE) are delighted to announce that the Presidents of the four Royal Surgical Colleges have appointed Mr John Hines as the next ICBSE Chair.
The Joint Committee on Surgical Training (JCST) has today (19 March 2020) published the following statement on Trainee Progression in 2020.
The Colleges recognise the significant financial pressures being placed on trainees and have decided to freeze the JCST fee at £260 for 2019-20, with the intention to hold it at this level for a further two years beyond that, to August 2022, subject to affordability.
All of Scotland’s latest group of surgical trainees are to start off a new training programme this week and during the first phase of their programme will undertake an intensive ‘boot camp’ to teach them the core skills they need.
